Black cats and daffodils in December
While taking outdoor photos of my latest creations, I had some assistance. My cat joined me as I shot photos of jewelry and daffodils.

While we were outside, it occurred to me that she joined our family over a year ago. She was thrown from a moving car as a kitten near our home. Despite such cruel treatment, she remains loving and affectionate. We adopted her, had her spayed and vaccinated. Her coat has become sleek as a seal and she has filled out. She is a prodigious hunter and regularly brings us "gifts" as a token of her appreciation. We are lucky to have her.

Honestly, I don't know what to make of our weather lately. Of course, it's nothing in comparison to the weather in the north with chilly temperatures and record snow fall. Our winter has brought mild temperatures, much needed rain and daffodils in December. By the end of this week, we will have below normal temperatures. My kids are hoping for a snow day, but it doesn't seem to be in the cards. Snow days means freedom from school, hot cocoa, sledding, lots of wet clothes, rosy red cheeks, the aroma of simmering spaghetti sauce, a roaring fire and a movie marathon. Come to think of it, snow doesn't sound so bad.
My daffodils bloomed about six to eight weeks ahead of schedule. Luckily they are hardy and show withstand future frosts or snow. Love to see these cheery flowers, they remind me of the scene from the movie, "Doctor Zhivago". Simply thousands of daffodils swaying gently in the breeze. My daffodils are self-propagating and will perhaps one day will fill the yard with beautiful blooms.
